A tube with Liquid Sheets is a paramount for any emergency kit among the Imperial pilots and soldiers during the First Era.

Emergence of the Hygiene Tube

The Imperial forces were constantly seeking ways to improve their soldiers’ efficiency and reduce the burden of carrying bulky equipment. In this pursuit, a team of scientists developed a potentially revolutionary product called the Hygiene Tube, which aimed to replace traditional toothbrushes and bath sponges with a single, compact solution.

The Hygiene Tube contained a unique chemical compound that, when exposed to oxygen, would instantly transform into a sponge-like material filled with soap or toothpaste. This innovative design promised to save space, reduce weight, and eliminate the need for multiple grooming tools.

However, during rigorous testing, it became evident that the Hygiene Tube posed a significant health risk. Microparticles from the sponge were found to adhere to the user’s teeth, causing enamel erosion and a condition dubbed “cheesy teeth” among affected marines. This discovery led to the immediate discontinuation of the Hygiene Tube project.

Undeterred by the setback, the scientists behind the Hygiene Tube were tasked with finding a safer application for their technology. They embarked on a journey to modify the compound to eliminate the harmful effects while retaining its unique properties.

The New Purpose for an Old Invention

After extensive research, they developed a new formulation that lacked its previous soap and toothpaste properties but was much more formable during the initial inflation. This remarkable transformation allowed for the creation of thin, pliable biodegradable, and thereby disposable, sheets.

During the initial field testing, soldiers discovered that these sheets could be spread onto a flat surface, like a rolled-out jacket or the bottom of a tent, to create temporary bedding or towels. The sheets were found to be remarkably effective at absorbing moisture and providing a comfortable insulating surface.

With no adverse health effects reported, the new compound, dubbed Liquid Sheets, was deemed safe and efficient. It quickly became an indispensable part of the Imperial military’s field kits, providing soldiers with a versatile and lightweight solution for personal comfort.
