Voice of the Swarm is a major character in the ELZA/NADIA comic series.
Character Summary
Voice of the Swarm is a Communications and Relationships platform that was created specifically to communicate with Nadia and Lyandra. She is not a person, but a tool that is used by the Iron Swarm to made its point clear. When her purpose expires, Voice of the Swarm is about to be promptly utilized by the hive. She will be reconstructed in the identical shape once again if the need arises.
Behind the Scenes
The sole purpose behind the Voice of the Swarm is to provide the Iron Swarm with a relatable “human” face and voice their perspective on the interstellar conflict with alien invaders.
Appearance of the Voice of the Swarm was inspired by Body Worlds (Link/bodyworlds.com). Differently from skinless human bodies, she is explicitly conceived as non-organic being, thereby metal was used as the primary material for the “muscle” fibers.
Even though she represents the Iron Swarm, iron and steel were excluded early on as they made the character look too much like a Terminator. Brass was used instead as a much more gentle and noble metal.
