Honored Legion

Published by ENTIA on

Neither a law enforcement agency, or a branch of Imperial Military, the Honored Legion stands on its own. The sole purpose of the Honored Legion is to protect the Capitol of Limmea and the life of the Imperial Monarch themselves. For this reason, the Honored Legion is the only institution that does not answer to neither the Chamber of Lords or the Secret Council as their loyalty is dedicated exclusively to the Khan Dynasty.

Because of a large magnitude of its duties, the Honored Legion is split in a hierarchy of multiple tiers. Legionnaires of the lowest tier are serving as local police force on Capitol. Meanwhile Legionnaires that have proved themselves through years of loyal service have a chance of reaching the highest tier and get an ultimate privilege to serve as bodyguards for the Imperial Monarch and their family.

Offensive Capabilities of the Honored Legion

Because of their high status, Legionnaires are continuously supplied with state-of-the-art military equipment be it body armor, weapons or communication devices. As of their combat training, Legionnaires are usually compared to SONG or INI Strike Teams. Legionnaires do not possess any heavy artillery, large offensive spacecrafts or other tools of war that could make them compete with the Imperial Military. Still, Honored Legion operates a small fleet of auxiliary spaceships and vehicles that allows them to be independent from the resources of the Imperial Navy.

Service in the Honored Legion

Only the best troops from the Imperial Navy and Imperial Peacekeeping Corps are allowed to serve in the Honored Legion. Differently from the rest of the Military, each new recruit to the Honored Legion is automatically granted a First Class Citizenship. Also, after serving for at least 15 ISC, each Legionnaire becomes eligible for a life long pension. If legionnaire is reaching a retirement age of 55 ISC while in service, the Legionnaires’ pension doubles and they are given a symbolical piece of land on one of Imperial Colonies. History does also know few Legionnaires ascended to a Noble status as recognition for heroic deeds during their service.

All these perks make service in the Honored Legion into an extremely attractive opportunity for young Imperial soldiers. It is also the safest place to build a military career as Legionnaires are never sent to the front lines and are destined to enjoy service in the center of the Empire. With hundreds of applicants compete for each place, only the best are allowed to bare the title of Legionnaire – this fact provides legionnaires with pride over their position. On duty, Legionnaires do often wear white state-of-the-art armor that both protects them and symbolizes their proximity to the pure might of the Imperial Monarch.
