Council of Free People
Council of Free People is a political movement that got established as a result of a short civil war that took place in the Federal space year 1080.
The Free People’s Party
First started year 1037 as a Free People’s Party, first members of the council rapidly gained popularity and gathered multiple seats in the Federal Parliament. The initial support was gained on the basis of the party`s straight policy that opposed Federations growing plutocracy and promised to end the ongoing democratic crisis. Inability of ruling elites to change the course of their policy led Free People’s Party straight to the Federal Parliament as a result of 1038 elections.
A Day of Civil War
Year 1080 Free People’s Party announced their disagreement with the new loan and taxation policy that was approved by the Chancellor in circumvention of the Parliamentary hearings. A mere debate grew into an informational campaign with mutual accusations of corruption. The conflict escalated when the 3rd Space Force regiment launched its fighters to take the Chancellor under its custody until further investigation by the parliamentary committee. That attack was disrupted by forces from a private military company that provided the escort to the Chancellor. This attack was portraited in the media as an attempt of a military coup and attack on the democratic institutions. This informational campaign revoked most of people’s support from the Free People`s Party. Few of the high brass that supported the coup were rapidly identified and either eliminated or put under the custody by the same PMC that protected the Chancellor. Rest of the Space Force and Federal Special Services had no other choice, but to go with the line of the Chancellor. The one day Civil War was won by the Federal Chancellor and loyalist forces. Opposition had to flee.
Opposition in the Exile
As a result of the Federation winning the civil war, sympathizers of the CFP got proclaimed as terrorists. Any affiliation with this organization got outlawed and hunted out of the Federal space. While still having a moderate military force under their control, leadership of the Free People’s Party took over the Blue Hive, an ancient megastructure on the fringe of Federal and Imperial space.
Rise of the Council of Free People
After establishing a base at the Blue Hive, the former leadership of Free People’s Party pronounced itself as a Council of Free People. According to their ideological vision, Council have promised to protect and serve all refugees that live on the Blue Hive and beyond.
People of the Blue Hive
Given that most of the current members of CFP have their background in the Federal Parliament and local planetary governments, their rule over the Blue Hive was seen mostly as just and competent. Over few years the whole facility was successful integrated is a single economic structure and started producing goods and services that were in high demand among the inhabitants of both unrecognized territories and Federal/Imperial fringe worlds. This prosperity led to a rise of skilled immigration from both major interstellar states. Soon, Council of Free People discovered means to understand and control inner workings of the Blue Hive. This knowledge provided them with means for protecting the superstructure from Federal and Imperial fleets, and as a result, successfully end the Mirror Wars.
