Early Life

Halud was born in a village near one of the Northern Kingdoms. As a seven years old boy, he was enslaved by one of the local Warlords and brought to the free city of Kraz to be auctioned away on the local market.

Fortunately for him, Al’Umu of Kraz decided to permanently ban slavery starting from that day. As an act of good will, she have suggested to buy out all slaves before expelling their sellers from Kraz. Northern slavers did not agree with her – they felt insulted and conspired to burn all their “human merchandise” alive inside a locked barn…

Halud was only one of the boys who found courage to escape the captivity and rally the city guards before this tragedy could happen. Thanks to him, help arrived just in time to save the slaves from an already burning building.

For this heroic deed of saving his brethren, Halud was unofficially adopted by Al’Umu and grew up having his own room inside the guard barracks of the Royal Palace. Young Sha’am’ira Lyandra (daughter of Al’umu) became Halud’s best friend and they have spent all their youth together.

Also, Lyandra, his childhood friend and the only love of his life is promised to him as a future wife. The only thing that stands between them and happy ever after are Krazian customs, where the Lyandra can not marry before her older sister becomes Al’umu herself.
