Liubov Pyr is a secondary character in the ELZA comic series.

Life as a Privileged Imperial

Liubov Pyr was born to a prominent Limmean dynasty of healers and architects. Despite having no Noble blood in their veins, Pyr family were highly regarded among the Nobility. This way, Liubov was destined for a prestigious occupation and a life full of privilege that few other First Class Citizens could dream about. With her eyes on the prize, pretty early in life Liubov became a prominent socialite.

The sense of a new era for the whole Empire that came with coronation of Igor Khan as the new Imperial Monarch has sent a wave of euphoria among Imperial citizens. False sense of near victory in the war inspired Liubov to step aside from her family’s treaded path and pursue a career of a dancer at the Imperial Grand Theatre.

During her dancing career, Liubov have repeatedly failed to secure any breakout roles. Despite the lack of professional success, she have managed to create a great family with five children, and maintain her position in the elitist social circle. After a decade of performing on stage, Liubov chose to retire from the theatre and commit herself to a teaching practice as a private choreography tutor.

Political Dissident

As the War was taking toll on the Imperial Society, Liubov got invited by one of her friends from high society to join a secret discussion circle of Limmean intellectuals and political free thinkers. Those dissidents held private meetings where they talked about the possible means to achieve peace treaty between the Empire and Federation. Soon after Liubov have joined this circle, the whole group was uncovered and arrested by INI agents.

Probation as a Ship Commander

While others political dissidents from the discussion circle were proclaimed traitors and either executed or sent to off-world labor camps, Liubov was saved from such fate thanks to her connections among the Nobility. She could not escape the punishment though. As a symbolic matter, Liubov Pyr got sentenced to five ISC of civic duty instead.

After a short training course she was assigned as a Commander of a large Imperial freight ship of model Orca-LT. It turned out to be an easy task as Commander Pyr had no responsibilities but to supervise highly trained and highly motivated young professional pilots in their pursuit of the First Class Citizenship.

Behind the Scenes

Appearance of Lubov Pyr was based on “Purple” an experimental character made during pre-production of first issues ELZA comic. For her first appearance in ELZA: Origins “Purple” became “Pyr” and this character also got aged up to look appropriate as Elza’s superior officer.

Liubov means “love” in Russian – this name represents the key motivation of Liubov Pyr. Her character is driven by nothing else, but love towards her five children. Liubov will do anything if she deems that it will contribute towards a better future for them.
